About the App
KTV Karaoke turns an Android phone, tablet or TV box into a karaoke machine. Connect it to a television or speakers, pick songs from the song list, and sing along to lyrics that highlight in time with the music. Friends can join from their own phones to reserve songs and control the show.
Features
- Lyrics synced to the music, with an opening title card and a 3-2-1 count-in after long instrumental breaks.
- A reservation queue with a Reserve First option, reordering by drag, and a short undo when cancelling. Reserved songs are kept if the app closes.
- Phone remotes that connect by scanning a QR code shown on the Player, over the local Wi-Fi network.
- Lyric designs and fonts, animated backgrounds, or a video of your own as the background.
- Auto-Next with a Get Ready countdown, optional scoring, and a progress bar showing when the song ends.
How songs are played
Songs are MIDI karaoke tracks (.mid and .kar files) downloaded from the song server at
ktv.share-tube.com. They are played by the synthesizer built into the Android device. They are not
audio recordings, and the app does not stream or record your singing.
Requirements
- Android 7.0 or later.
- An internet connection to download the song list and songs.
- A Wi-Fi network shared by the Player and any phones used as remotes.
Section 2
Privacy Policy
In short: KTV Karaoke has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking. What you do in the app stays on your device. We do not sell or share personal information.
This policy explains what information the KTV Karaoke app and the song server at ktv.share-tube.com handle, and why.
2.1 Information kept on your device
The app stores the following on the device where it is installed:
- Your settings, such as lyric design, font, background and player options.
- Favorite songs, and reserved songs so that the queue survives the app closing. A reservation records the name of who reserved it: the Player's label, or the device model of the phone used as a remote.
- The downloaded song list, song files and promotional banners.
This information is not sent to us. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. If Android device backup is turned on, Android may include the app's settings in your backup; that backup is managed by Google under your Google account settings.
2.2 Information our server receives
When the app downloads the song list, songs or banners, it makes ordinary web requests to ktv.share-tube.com. As with any website, the server may record technical details of each request in its logs, such as the IP address, the date and time, the file requested and the app's user agent. These logs are used only to keep the service running and secure. They are not used to build profiles, and they are not sold or shared except where required by law.
2.3 Remotes on your local network
The Player and phones used as remotes talk to each other directly over your local Wi-Fi network. They exchange the song list, reservations, playback controls and the remote phone's device model name, which labels its reservations. None of this passes through our server.
2.4 Permissions

A video you choose as a background is read from your gallery on the device to play behind the lyrics. It is not uploaded.
2.5 Third-party services
- Google Play may check for app updates. This is handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy.
- PayPal processes donations. If you donate, PayPal shares with us the details of that payment (such as your name, email address and the amount) under PayPal's privacy policy. We use these details only to record and acknowledge the donation.
2.6 Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
2.7 Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For privacy questions, contact the publisher, share-tube Dev, at ktv.share-tube.com.

Terms of Use
By installing or using KTV Karaoke or the song server at ktv.share-tube.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the server.
3.1 Use of the app
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial karaoke entertainment. The app, its design and its code remain the property of share-tube Dev; using the app does not transfer any ownership to you.
3.2 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, sell, redistribute or publicly share song files downloaded through the app.
- Use automated tools to mass-download from the song server, or place an unreasonable load on it.
- Use the app or the server for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
- Interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the server or other users' devices.
3.3 Public and commercial performance
Singing at home with family and friends is the intended use. Performing songs in public or for a business, such as in a bar, restaurant, KTV establishment or event, may require licences from music rights organisations in your country. Obtaining those licences is your responsibility.
3.4 Local network remotes
Anyone on the same Wi-Fi network who scans the Player's QR code can connect as a remote, reserve songs and control playback. You are responsible for who has access to your network.
3.5 Availability of the service
The song server is provided free of charge and on a best-effort basis. Songs may be added, changed or removed at any time, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued without notice.
3.6 Donations
Donations are entirely voluntary. They do not purchase songs, licences or any rights, and they do not unlock features or guarantee continued service. See Donations for details.
3.7 Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app and the song server are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, share-tube Dev is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from the use of or inability to use the app or the server.
3.8 Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions about these terms may be sent to the publisher, share-tube Dev, at ktv.share-tube.com.

Song Copyright Notice
All songs belong to their respective owners. KTV Karaoke does not claim ownership of any song title, lyric, melody or musical composition, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any artist, songwriter, record label or music publisher.
4.1 What the song files are
The karaoke tracks are MIDI renditions: note-by-note arrangements with lyric text timed to the music, played by the device's own synthesizer. They are not original studio recordings. Titles, lyrics and compositions remain the property of their respective copyright owners.
4.2 Permitted use
The tracks are made available for private, non-commercial home karaoke only. They are never sold. They may not be copied, redistributed, uploaded elsewhere or used commercially. Public or commercial performance may require separate licences, as described in the Terms of Use.
4.3 Requests from rights holders
We respect the rights of songwriters, artists and publishers. If you own the rights to a song available through the song server and want it removed, please contact the publisher, share-tube Dev, at ktv.share-tube.com and include:
- The title and artist of the work, and the song number shown in the app if known.
- Your name and your relationship to the rights owner, with details showing you are authorised to act for them.
- Contact details where we can reach you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights owner.
Valid requests are reviewed promptly, and the song is removed from the song server. Removed songs disappear from the app's song list the next time it is updated.
4.4 Trademarks
Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC. PayPal is a trademark of PayPal, Inc. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Donations — Keeping the Servers Up
KTV Karaoke is free and carries no advertising. Running it still has real costs, and donations from people who enjoy the app are what keep the song server online and the app improving.
